AMELIA EARHART FELLOWSHIP
Established in 1938 in honor of famed pilot and Zontian, Amelia Earhart, the Amelia Earhart Fellowship is awarded annually to women pursuing Ph.D./doctoral degrees in aerospace-related sciences and aerospace-related engineering. The Fellowship of $10,000, awarded to 35 Fellows around the globe each year, may be used at any university or college offering accredited post-graduate courses and degrees in these fields.
Since the program’s inception, Zonta has awarded 1,333 Amelia Earhart Fellowships, totaling US$7.5 million, to women from 65 countries. Application information and instructions can be found here.
LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR WOMEN
Zonta Club of Charles County awards two scholarships annually through the Charles County Board of Education and the College of Southern Maryland.
Scholarships will be in the amount of $1,000.00 each. One recipient at the high school level and one recipient at the college level will be chosen. Applications will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Grade Point Average
- Community Involvement
- Civic Organization Membership
- Scholastic Extra-Curricular Activities
- Has overcome an obstacle or challenge
- Expresses college or professional goals to assist the status of women

JANE M. KLAUSMAN WOMEN IN BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP
Established in 1998 from a generous bequest by Jane M. Klausman, a member of the Zonta Club of Syracuse, New York USA, and the 1990-1995 Zonta International Parliamentarian, the Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship is awarded annually to women pursuing undergraduate or master’s degrees in business management.
Zonta International awards scholarships of $1,000 each at the district level and twelve international scholarships in the amount of $5,000 each. The Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarships are awarded annually and may be used for tuition, books or living expenses at any university, college or institution offering accredited business courses and degrees.
The Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship program operates at the club, district and international levels of Zonta International. Applicants must be nominated by a local Zonta club. To apply, please contact us.
